After four months out due to injury, tennis star Carlos Alcaraz makes his long-awaited return to the 2026 US Open.

As the 2025 champion, Alcaraz will be looking to defend his title at Flushing Meadows, although the path to glory will not be easy. In April, the 23-year-old suffered an injury to his right wrist and was forced to miss the French Open and Wimbledon tournaments. Once recovered, Alcaraz would play his first singles match in over four months.
Alcaraz is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the main draw – especially after his opponent Jannik Sinner withdrew – but he may have become rusty in the competition. Legend Novak Djokovic has also been named in the same team as the Spanish star, which could set them up for a semi-final meeting.
Will Alcaraz be able to return to New York?
