Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson pleads not guilty to speeding

CLEVELAND — Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has pleaded not guilty after receiving a speeding ticket on Aug. 26.

Watson filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Cleveland Municipal Court, according to court records. The next hearing is scheduled for September 23.

Watson, who turns 31 on Monday, was stopped by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers for allegedly driving 86 mph in a 60 mph zone in a 2022 Ram pickup truck on Interstate 480 in Cleveland during the morning rush hour.

Watson will start for the first time since Week 7 of the 2024 season when the Browns open the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. He won the starting quarterback competition over Sheader Sanders.
