It’s the United manager’s last pre-match press conference before the international break, and already this weekend looks like a big one for him and the Reds. Another defeat to a side yet to win the Premier League would be a hammer blow and set a gloomy tone ahead of the three-week break. Victory is always perfect, but it seems more important than usual.
Shaw’s return from injury will be a big boost for the Reds. The left-back has missed three matches in a row and United have won just once in that time. After the dismal performance against Brighton, we can expect Carrick to announce changes and hopefully for United, Shaw is one of the men who could return.
