Colombo [Sri Lanka]February 15 (ANI): A large number of cricket enthusiasts gathered at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, creating a tense atmosphere ahead of the much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Waving flags, chanting slogans and wearing their team colors, fans from both sides cheered enthusiastically as they waited for the high-voltage competition to begin.
There was excitement at the Premadasa Stadium as fans expressed confidence in their teams.
The India-Pakistan rivalry, known for its intensity and passionate fans, once again attracted huge attention with the stadium transformed into a sea of blue and green.
As the teams prepared to take the field, anticipation and energy reached a fever pitch among the spectators eager to witness another exciting chapter in cricket’s most famous rivalry.
As excitement around the much-awaited India-Pakistan match is at its peak, an Indian cricket fan in Colombo shared his enthusiasm ahead of the match.
Expressing emotional anticipation, the fan said, “It has been a big dream of our lives to witness India’s victory over Pakistan and today we will witness India’s victory again after defeating Pakistan. The voice must reach Lahore.”
A cricket fan from Pakistan said: “The voice will reach Delhi… Walk away from cinema and there will be no dialogue here. We are confident that these people will lose today.”
Indian fan Mohd Afsar said: “We are here to support our team. There is no rivalry between us, but India will win. If we look at the last 10-15 years, we will see that we have only won. There’s a lot of excitement here.”
Both India and Pakistan have played two matches in the tournament so far and have won their respective matches. While India entered the competition on the strength of victories over the United States of America and Namibia, Pakistan defeated the Netherlands and the United States.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian team currently tops Group A with four points and a net run rate (NRR) of +3.050, while the Pakistani team is second with four points and an NRR of +0.932. (ANI)
