India’s dominant performance
After winning the toss, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana decided to bat first, but the decision quickly backfired as the Indian spinners tore apart their line-up. Shri Charani and Prema Rawat led the attack with three wickets each, helping India oust Pakistan by just 55 runs.
India managed to chase down the tiny target without much trouble, scoring 56 in just 8.4 overs while losing three wickets.
The return of Irfan Pathan’s viral Sunday joke
The one-sided victory also gave former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan a golden opportunity to make a bold stand against Pakistan. Soon after India’s victory, Pathan approached X and wrote: “Aaj Sunday hai kya?” (Today is Sunday?), bringing back memories of his viral post during the 2025 Men’s Asian Cup.
For the uninitiated, India and Pakistan faced each other on three consecutive Sundays during the 2025 Asian Cup. After one of India’s victories over Pakistan, Pathan went to X and wrote: “Sunday kaisa raha, padosiyo?” (How was your Sunday, neighbors?).
A year later, the former cricketer seemed to have revived the joke, again following the India-Pakistan clash that hit India hard.
