Yadagirigutta: Fake license scam due to Lakshmi Pushkarini maintenance contract

Yadadri Bhuvanagiri: The maintenance contract for the Lakshmi Pushkarini temple tank at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Yadagirigutta has become the center of a major controversy after it was revealed that the contractor involved in water treatment and maintenance for the last ten years had submitted a fake license.

The issue came to light after the temple management lodged a complaint with the Yadagirigutta police station in this regard.

According to reports, the temple invites tenders every year for water purification and renovation work at Pushkarini, where devotees bathe. The contract covers the installation of state-of-the-art water filtration systems, annual maintenance of pump motors and the use of chemicals within acceptable limits, which legally requires a valid drug license.

The fraud was uncovered when authorities sent the contractors’ licenses to the Drug Enforcement Administration for inspection after competition for the new tender intensified.
