Released this week Haivanstarring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. The thriller managed to grab attention thanks to its casting, director Priyadarshan’s presence and its intriguing trailer. In this article Bollywood Hungama will focus solely on the film versions.
EXCLUSIVE: “Haiwaan” clocks in at 164 minutes; CBFC replaces the word with “Kamina”; replaces “derogatory” term with “Girlfriend”
Central Board of Film Certification passed Haivan with certificate U/A 16+. However, they asked for certain cuts. The visuals at the beginning of the film were “modified accordingly”. In the second half of the film the word was removed and replaced with ‘Fireplace’. In the postinterval section, the “derogatory” word was removed and replaced with “Girlfriend.” Somewhere in the middle of the film, the “derogatory” sentence was removed and replaced with ‘Dimaag ki waat laga ke rakh di’. Luckily, there were no visual cuts. Thus, all the exciting and action-packed visuals remained untouched by the CBFC Examination Board.
After making these changes, the CBFC handed over the film today i.e. September 8th. The duration of the film, as stated in the censorship certificate, is 164.07 minutes. In other words, Haivan is 2 hours 44 minutes and 7 seconds.
Apart from Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, Haivan also stars Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher. It will be released on September 11th.
