Made on a shoestring budget of just Rs 2 crore, Hanuman Ansh arrived in theaters on August 7 without much fanfare. However, strong word of mouth quickly turned the Neem Karoli Baba biopic into Hindi cinema’s biggest surprise success story this year. Now in its sixth week, the religious drama continues to attract viewers, leaving behind even recent releases Mirzapur The Movie and Haiwaan.
How much did Hanuman Ansh earn on Day 39?
Hanuman Ansh maintained its strong momentum in its sixth Monday, earning Rs 8.25 crore in India. The latest collection brings the total Indian net collection to Rs 222.88 crore and the Indian gross collection to Rs 263.30 crore. The film is also doing well worldwide after its international release on September 11, adding another Rs 2 crore on its 39th day. Its overseas collection now stands at Rs 16.50 crore, taking the film’s global collection to a staggering Rs 279.80 crore.

Meanwhile, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyendu Mirzapur starrer The Movie, based on the popular Prime Video series, opened well at the box office, collecting Rs 148 crore in India in its first week. However, the crime thriller is now facing stiff competition from Hanuman Ansh. On the second Monday, Mirzapur The Movie earned Rs 5.50 crore in India – significantly less than the Rs 8.25 crore collected by Hanuman Ansh on the sixth Monday. So far, *Mirzapur The Movie* has earned Rs 190 crore in India and has collected Rs 273.64 crore at the global box office, second only to Ansh’s Hanuman in the global race.
