London is set for its final spell of warm sunshine in 2026, with forecasters predicting ten consecutive days of glorious weather in the capital starting this weekend.
According to BBC Weather, the city will experience warm weather every day from Sunday, September 20 to Tuesday, September 29, with temperatures of 22°C or higher each day.
Conditions will be driven by a ridge of high pressure over the south, bringing persistent heat to the capital following a wetter period in recent weeks.
Pending warmer weather over the weekend, the rest of this week will continue to bring sunshine and showers.
Thursday will see early clouds and rain before becoming dry, with sunny spells and just a few patchy clouds.
A start of sunshine is expected Friday before clouds move in from the west, possibly bringing a few showers here and there.
Saturday is forecast to be cloudy and windy, with scattered showers and drizzle possible from the west.
This will be followed by ten consecutive days of sunshine, with the Met Office also forecasting plenty of dry and increasingly warm and possibly quite wet weather.
The outlook for London by the end of September will be “increasingly warmer and possibly wetter”, with the bulk of the rain falling in the north-west of the UK, according to the Met Office.
It said variable conditions in early October “could become more common”, however: “Temperatures are likely to remain generally above normal.”
