Veteran actress Mandakini has spoken out about a controversial photo of her with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim that surfaced years ago, clarifying that he did not invite her and that she traveled to Dubai for a show before attending a cricket match in Sharjah where the photo was taken. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Mandakini said she has no control over the rumors and reports that followed the photo, adding that as an artist, she interacted with several people and did not discriminate between them.
“Jo bhi log likhna chahe, jo bhi bolna chahe, we can’t control it. Ek Artist ko hazaaron log milte hain aur hum sabke liye baraabar hai. Later I realized that I needed to have a team to take care of all these things. I have denied rumors everywhere,” she added.
Mandakini rose to fame with the film Ram Teri Ganga Maili, in which she played the lead role and became one of the prominent faces of Hindi cinema in the 1980s. The film, directed by Raj Kapoor, was a great success and established her as a leading actress of its era. After her success, Mandakini continued to work in Hindi cinema and acted in more than 75 films during her career.
