Star Plus’ upcoming show Sayoneee has been creating a lot of buzz ever since its first promos were released. Produced by Sargun Mehta’s Dreamiyata Entertainment, the show marks Rashami Desai’s much-awaited return to television and has already created curiosity among viewers. The recently released promo featuring Gautam Singh Vig alongside Janhvi Soni has further fueled the excitement by giving a glimpse into the relationship that will define Saanvi’s path. Janhvi plays Saanvi, a young girl who grew up in an orphanage without a mother. Although Janhvi had no such experience in her life, she found a personal connection with Saanvi through one of her closest friends, who also grew up without her mother.
Talking about this experience, Janhvi shares, “Personally, I haven’t gone through anything like Saanvi, but one of my closest friends grew up without her mother. She considers her maasi to be her mother and I saw this connection very closely. I often thought about what it must have been like for her growing up, going to school, taking exams or going through important moments without her mother by her side. Over the years, her maasi became her motherly figure and her biggest emotional support. I feel that many children who grow up in orphanages also find someone with whom they connect emotionally, someone who becomes their sense of family and comfort.”
She adds, “It helped me understand Saanvi and her desire for motherly love and a sense of belonging. When preparing for the character, I tried to draw on what I saw and understood in my friend’s journey. It helped me connect with Saanvi’s emotions and understand why finding this mother figure meant so much to her.”
Sayoneya starring Rashami Desai, Janhvi Soni and Gautam Singh Vig will premiere on September 23 at 7:30 pm on Star Plus and JioHotstar.
