Toronto Maple Leafs fans are going to go crazy when they see what Gavin McKenna did today at the team’s rookie camp.
And honestly… it’s no surprise!
The No. 1 overall pick in the last draft wowed everyone when he went all-out to score against Michigan during an intrasquad game.
He raced behind the opposing goalie and then beat him with what is probably the most difficult move to pull off in a game situation.

It takes talent to pull off such a step.
And this guy just proved to everyone that he has plenty of it. Leafs fans must be happy and relieved to see him so comfortable on the ice, and that’s only natural: we’d feel the same way in Montreal.
But for me, what really stands out in this clip is the young player’s confidence.
He knows that all the attention is on him, he knows that everyone is watching him, he knows that he needs to perform well because there is a lot of pressure in playing in Toronto… and he has the courage to try move like this during his debut in the organization.
