Global Chess League Day 4 – LIVE!

Day 4

The fourth season of the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League (TechM GCL) will take place from September 5 to 13, continuing the franchise competition that pairs elite players in mixed teams. The league has a combined team format in which men and women compete against each other.

Each team fields six players in a fixed order for the duration of the event. The highest ranked player, designated as Icon, plays on the first board. The second and third boards should be occupied by men, the fourth and fifth by women, and the sixth by juniors born in 2004 or later.

The league is divided into a preliminary stage and a final. The preliminary stage is a double round-robin tournament. The two teams with the most match points will advance to the final, while the third and fourth place teams will compete in the third place match.

All games are played for 20 minutes for the entire game with an addition of 2 seconds, starting from the 41st move.
