Canada’s women’s wheelchair basketball team earned its second win of the world championships in Ottawa, defeating Australia 79-30 at Carleton University on Thursday.
Veteran Cady Dandeneau of Pender Island, British Columbia, led the way again with 33 points and six assists while adding 12 rebounds.
Arinn Young, a native of St. Albert, Alta., grabbed 14 rebounds and scored 20 points as the veteran duo helped Canada get off to a strong 2-0 start in the 12-nation women’s bracket.

The Canadian men’s team got off to a winning start on Wednesday, beating Morocco 74-51. They next take the court at Carleton University against Germany on Friday at 12:00 pm ET.
This year the men’s and women’s competitions will be held in Ottawa.
