Delhi Police on Tuesday (September 8, 2026) rejected claims that mobile phone jammers were installed at the rescue site of the collapsed Satya Niketan building, saying the networks were fully functional and rescue agencies were communicating through mobile phones without any glitches.
In a post on X, the police called the jammer claims “totally false” and said that Delhi Police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and fire department personnel were coordinating seamlessly through mobile communications.
Police also said that media personnel and citizens at the scene were broadcasting live without any disruption to mobile communications.
The clarification comes amid allegations circulating on social media that mobile phone jammers were installed at the site where a multi-storey building housing a paying guest house for boys collapsed on Sunday (September 6, 2026), killing seven people.
