Convicted fraudster Elizabeth Holmes appeared to share a photo of herself taking a kissing selfie on Sunday, even though she remains behind bars.
The post included a photo of Holmes, 42, in full makeup, blowing a kiss, wearing a snake ring and a glamorous black and white tank top.
“The answer to every challenge lies in your heart,” it read.
As of Monday evening, the post had received more than 12 million views, with many online responding directly to Holmes’ account, and she apparently responded back.
One user X’s account said her snake ring was “from the Taylor Swift merchandise stand,” and when one person told her she “hasn’t changed at all,” the account replied, “True.” But I don’t think that’s the insult you meant.
When another account then asked her “wya” – “where are you?”, she apparently responded, “Camp Bryan Federal Prison,” where Holmes is serving an 11-year sentence for defrauding investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars.
In a follow-up post, the account noted that the photo of the kiss was actually taken in 2019, as Holmes does not have internet access in federal prison.
Her account is managed by her fiancé, Billy Evans, according to NPR.

A 42-year-old woman remains behind bars at Camp Bryan Federal Prison, where she is serving 11 years for defrauding investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars.
It comes on the eve of the release of a secret documentary in which Holmes opened up to Nathan Fielder just days before she was sent to prison.
She was convicted in 2022 of four counts of fraud for obtaining hundreds of millions of dollars by misleading investors about the technology behind her health care startup.
The company said it could perform hundreds of blood tests using a single drop of blood obtained through a finger prick, but a series of investigative articles published by The Wall Street Journal exposed the fraud.
There were then rumors for years that Fielder was interviewing Holmes, but the project was kept secret.
Cellphones were confiscated from patrons before a screening of the documentary at the Telluride Film Festival’s Herzog Theater.
When news of the closely guarded project finally broke, a disturbing trailer was released.
It shows Fielder and Holmes looking at each other for about a minute, debating whether she’s being sincere while staring deeply into each other’s eyes.
“I have nothing to deceive you about,” Holmes tells the director.
“Of course, I’m not deceiving you. I communicate with you as a person. Why should I deceive you? I have no reason to do this.”
The post comes ahead of the release of a documentary about the disgraced Theranos founder.
‘FINE. Everything is fine. Okay, nice chatting,” Fielder replies. -Are you telling the truth now?
“I’m always sincere,” Holmes replies.
Her X account then posted the trailer on X, adding that she is “always real.”
In recent years, Holmes has posted pro-Trump and pro-Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) posts on X in August 2025, marking a dramatic shift from the political views and public image she previously projected on the platform.
Holmes’ account had been inactive since 2015 before resuming activity on X. During this time, she frequently posted about prominent women, including Rosa Parks, Marie Curie, Melinda Gates and Margaret Thatcher.
But by November In 2025, her account posted a Politico article about being “embraced” by MAHA and wrote, “I’ve been working to make America healthy again since 2004.”
“I will continue to dedicate my life to improving healthcare in this beautiful country I call home. I don’t know if I support MAHA, but I support its message: healthier Americans.”

Holmes was seeking a commutation of her sentence sometime in 2025, according to the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Pardon Attorneys. The Justice Department website lists her request as pending.
Holmes was convicted in criminal court of wire fraud totaling more than $140 million and sentenced to just over 11 years in prison, according to the Justice Department.
In civil court, the Securities and Exchange Commission accused her of defrauding investors of $700 million.
Holmes’ posts and her request for a commutation of her sentence could be seen as an attempt to win early release from the federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas, after she lost an appeal of her sentence in May.
Her only option before Dec. 30, 2031, is now a favorable Supreme Court ruling on her final appeal, which experts say is unlikely, or a successful clemency petition from the Trump administration.
Holmes’ strategy makes sense, as Trump has pardoned or commuted the sentences of dozens of white-collar criminals convicted of fraud.
The Justice Department’s website lists 114 people who have received clemency from the president since the start of his second term.
Of the pardoned or commuted sentences, 34 people were convicted of various types of fraud.
