On the first day of the Assembly monsoon session on Monday (September 7, 2026), Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislators wore black T-shirts with slogans like “Congress failed to fulfill promises in 1000 days” and staged a protest at the gates of Telangana-3 Assembly.
They were not allowed to enter the Assembly. The police took them away. Former ministers and BRS women MPs Sunitha Reddy and Sabita Indra Reddy said they were ill-treated by the police.
On Tuesday (September 8, 2026), the Saifabad police station registered a case against several BRS MLAs and MLCs, including Harish Rao, Sudhir Reddy, Kamalakar and Kaushik Reddy over the incident. They were charged with violating the Speaker’s dress code, harassing female police officers, removing their shirts, pushing and beating police officers and forcing entry.
