India and Bangladesh may soon collaborate to co-produce a “mega film” on the 1971 liberation war. Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari and his Bangladeshi counterpart Hasanul Haque Inu decided to put forward such a proposal at a meeting here on Thursday.
According to a statement by the I&B ministry, Mr. Inu has asked India to name the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the Bangladesh war as his government would like to recognize them. India played an active role in the war.
In the past few years, the Awami League-led government in Dhaka has honored Indian personalities active during that period.
