And while yes, he has a wealth of dance experience – starting with playing Mike Chang in Rejoicing to be a backup dancer for people like Beyoncé And Jennifer Lopez— he is adamant, and this does not necessarily give him an advantage.
“I think a lot of people who come from a dance background don’t make it very far,” Harry told E! News after the premiere on September 15. “It will tell you everything you need to know about what the show is about. It’s more than just dancing. It’s like storytelling – who you are, your personality, your connection not only with your partner but with the audience.”
He added: “That’s what I love about the show. Because I used to see it as just dancing, and when I watched last season I was like, ‘Oh, there’s so much more to it.’
For now, however, he seems to be able to both dance and tell stories with his partner. Jenna JohnsonCha Cha earned the night’s highest score at 21. But the professional doesn’t let them get hung up on success – after all, only half of the participants performed during the premiere.
