The Hunger Games The alum finally launched a verified social media account, joking in the description of his new @jlaw profile that “Jenniferlawrence has been kidnapped.”
And although she hasn’t posted a single post on the grid yet, Lawrence has already amassed more than 386,000 followers.
Indeed, the 36-year-old has spent more than a decade without a public social media account. As she told BBC Radio 1 back in 2014: “I’m not very good at [the] telephone or technology.”
“I can’t keep up with email, so the idea of Twitter is unthinkable to me,” she said at the time. “I really don’t understand what this is. It’s kind of a weird mystery that people talk about. This is fine. I respect that.”
But that doesn’t mean the Oscar winner is completely disconnected from the Internet.
“I’m doing this. But I’m a voyeur: I look, I don’t talk,” she shared in a 2019 interview with the publication. InStylefor Time. “There’s always so much backlash. So many people are listening and paying attention, and they have so many opinions about absolutely everything.”
