RIYADH: Saudi Arabia on Tuesday issued brief warnings of possible attacks in the holy city of Mecca and the provinces of Jeddah and Taif after the kingdom came under repeated attacks in recent days by the Iran-backed Houthis.
The warnings, including the first issued in Mecca since the start of the Middle East war, were quickly lifted, according to Saudi Arabia’s civil defense. They came a day after a series of ballistic missile and drone attacks originating from Yemen left 13 people wounded in the kingdom’s south.
