Six companies made their stock market debuts on Thursday, setting the record for the most listings on parent boards in a single day since at least 1996. Four of the six debuted strongly, finishing their debut session up 18 to 32 percent from their issue prices.
Karamtara Engineering closed at Rs 351.95 (up 38.6%), RentoMojo at Rs 532.95 (up 31.9%), LCC Projects at Rs 172.8 (up 18.3%), Steamhouse India at Rs 102.2 (up 26.2%) and Manipal Payment and Identity Solutions at Rs 345.8 (up) According to BSE, bonds are 1.99 percent above their respective issue prices. Only Asset Reconstruction Company closed in the red (down 1.4%).
Business Standard’s analysis of Capitaline and Prime Database data showed that the previous record for the number of one-day listings was December 27, 2024, when five companies, namely Dam Capital, Concord Enviro, Mamata Machinery, Sanathan Textile and Transrail Light, made their stock market debut. All companies registered gains in the first session, with Mamata Machinery shares rising 147 percent.
Since 1996, there have only been 10 instances where four or more motherboard listings have appeared on exchanges. According to Bloomberg, there were four listings each on April 18, 1995, August 31, 1995, February 15, 1996, and June 5, 2000, and five companies on February 27, 1996. Other similar cases were recorded on September 30, 2025, August 26, 2025, August 16, 2021, March 19, 2007 and March 7, 2007, Prime Database data shows.
Among the companies that listed on Thursday, RentoMojo raised the highest amount at Rs 1,201 crore. LCC Projects collected Rs 419 crore, Steamhouse India collected Rs 414 crore and Manipal Payment collected Rs 781 crore through new releases and sales offers. Meanwhile, Asset Reconstruction Company’s Rs 696 crore bid consisted entirely of an offer for sale, Prime Database data showed.
The six listings come amid strong initial public offerings (IPOs) for motherboards this year, with 81 companies raising Rp 1.04 trillion in calendar year 2026 (as of September 16) against Rp 1.76 trillion raised through 103 motherboard launches in the entire calendar year 2025, according to Prime Database. In 2026, SME IPOs raised Rs 6,814 crore from 151 issues, compared to Rs 11,455 crore raised from 267 SME issues in 2025.
The strong initial reaction to Thursday’s listing underscores resilient domestic liquidity and high retail investor confidence despite a busy issuance schedule.
